Happy Friday, readers! This is the time of year that I always let myself get excited about the upcoming baseball season. My excitement tends to peak early in the season, because my Twins (and adopted Rockies) are more likely than not to blow it in dramatic fashion.

Jeremy, I'm interested in your thoughts on the new pitch clock. I was disappointed that they were attempting to increase the pace of the game -- something I've always enjoyed right where it was. Nothing beats spending a slow evening on the back deck at home watching the Padres play.

Might not be a unique pick but Michael Chabon's "Summerland" has always been my go-to baseball novel. It really shows how mythical the sport can seem.
